I don't know if anyone saw on the news, Everyone who has a Zune 30 found out that it was completely bricked on new years eve. Check out this link http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7806683.stm People believe the problems are due it being the first time the Zune will have updated its calendars following a Leap year.
I got bitten by that bug! Ah, well. It fixed itself after a while.

I found out about that bug on Facepunch forums while browsing that place for the heck of it. Apparently every Zune 30 was bricked right at Midnight, but then fixed after some time. Remind you guys of the Y2K bug at all?
My friend has a Zune that he hasn't used because his screen is all messed up, but I'd like to see if his was bricked into an endless reboot cycle.
This also reminds me of Verizon's FiOS ActionTec routers that they give for free. From time to time I'll come across fresh reports online of firmware updates bricking the routers, and people having to telnet into them to try to fix them.
Oh, not an endless reboot cycle. It hung at the booting screen. You couldn't use BACK + UP like normal to reset it. You simply had to wait for the battery to die-out, then recharge it after Mid-day on the 1st Janurary.
Now I am waiting for the new year 2010 ....bye bye to 2009...Just giving an advance greeting! It's fast approaching anyway. Even the forums have feel of Christmas already!
