Alteran Labs

I cant believe we don't have a topic on this already. Stargate Atlantis has ended... Five years of what I would like to call pretty good freakin Stargate, basically the starting point of Alteran Labs and where I really got back into Stargate after kind of only watching SG1 off and on.

I thought the episode was great, but really could have been streatched out over another episode or two... So many things were skipped over it lost the whole alure of Atlantis. Magical ZPM's apearing at the hour of real need... Awesome new instant ship travel between galaxies.... Oh and Some how Carson Becket went from being unable to control a single drone To flying the city into a combat situation firing dozens of drones at a time... as well as landing it in the ocean, with out causing massive tidal waves onto the shore of San Francisco.... If I recall when Atlantis landed on the new world in Pegasus it caused quite a splash with the water.

To many things just seemed to fall together oh so nicely for the Atlantis team in this episode, they didn't even loose anything... No character deaths... unless you count Ronon's resurection, No major damage to the city. It kind of urks me how The only ship available ended up being the City, even though SG1 may not be on best terms with gould and the like, I'm sure they would have been able to call in a big favour through out the galaxy. Theres hundreds of Hataks and I'm sure all types of people would be willing to risk their ships to destroy a super wraith hive, after all the Goauld use humans as hosts, I'm sure they don't want wraith killing them all and runining their god complex.

Okay rant over... for now.

P.s. Where the hell were the Travelers! Surely they could have lent a hand as well!

And of course they had to kill off the Prommie so they had no line of defense. Heck what about the Ancient Chair. They could have cloaked the planet like that one time or maybe even use some drones. I am sure if they are out that Atlantis would have some to spare. I agree there were some holes in the episode but overall it was a wonderful series.

Well thats the thing, they had the Ancient chair in Area51 and they ended up blowing the place to pieces.
Im sure other than John Sheppard and Jack ONeil there were more people who had the ancient gene and could have given some ground support from the drones.
Hell, even the ORI ships. I think are still probably floating around... they could have kicked the Hives ass.

What I hate is that Atlantis threw everything they had at it and the only reason it was destroyed was because of the Bomb from sheppards ship inside the hive... How stupid. Sure the hive was super strong but there would have well and truely been week points, Dart bays, the bridge.... hibernation rooms... it just bugged me.


+++Side note, that means the Ark of Truth has also been destroyed considering atlantis final comes after the sg1 movie.

I'm sad to see Stargate end. The new Stargate series that is being made right now isn't sounding too good either. Quite frankly, I haven't wanted TV for about 3 months now, so you can see what it did to my TV viewing experience by Sci-Fi/the producers ending the series, right?

Evan though i agree with what daniel is saying there are a few things to remeber,

1. Carson was the prisoner for 2/3 years i beleave, So that probably made him toucher and more capable with stuff. Evan though i think flying and fighting with atlantis was a huge leep in charater developement i still liked the idea. As we dont know what really happened to him during the period we cant really say much honestly.

2. The hiveship outer shell was 5x thicker then normal, the exsternal shields where better then normal. What was weaker and odder then normal was the ships inside, As it was breaking away and changing to suit the ship. Didnt they also plant the C4 on the Power soruce which made the explosition 2x greater. I duno i skipped watched alot of season 5 as it lost its edge so feel free to correct me.

3. Seeing as all the priors have been restored to normal its safe to say all the ori ships when home, I cant see any staying. There was also a time issuse meaning that forces couldnt get there intime and thats also why the chair was never used. It got destoryed to fast before anyone could get there. Plus the wriath already knew the location of it from the message sent on the episode (vegas)

I duno if any movies have been confirmed, seeing how atlantis ended i cant really see any happening. Unless they sent atlantis back to sort a major issuse developing there but again it must be a serious issuse for them to risk sending it back, seeing as its also none of there conern.

Universe im still unsure onit, im not reading to much into it because i want to watch it without knowing whats going on and to try and follow the show, the same as i did with atlantis. I was evan unsure of atlantis at first but it ended up being a great series so we will have to see.

I think there are still movies planed, because I think they were pretty much ready for a season 6 so instead of that I hope they are going to make a movie or two. I have heard rumours about keeping it going in movie form. (i dont see why. weekly episodes better)

They did manage to get a contract for two movies which were ark of truth and continuum, also after that it was said that there will probably otha SG1 movies, same for Atlantis it has a movie in the making, however there is also a new sho SG-Universe.
